Run What Y' Brung

#14 Dirt Quake IV Street Tracker class, rode 200 miles to the track on his Honda mongrel and then raced. Managed to avoid enemy fire and rode home Sunday morning. Trooper.

Hi, its a 1989 VFR750, RC24 Honda. I built this for Dirt Quake 4. The engine has been sat on the floor in my garage for the last 20yrs awaiting a good home.
Everything has been bought individually on Ebay and made to fit together, not 2 bits came from the same bike! It is a complete mongrel!
It's made up from a VFR frame, Swing arm and tank. Front forks are 1995 Triumph Daytona, wheels are Triumph adventurer front, scrambler back wheel. Front brake is Daytona 955 with VFR master cylinder, rear Brake is VFR calliper on scrambler disc with a Hyabusa master cylinder. Foot peg hangers are Hyabusa. Home made seat unit and seat. Home made exhaust, 2 into 1 both sides so sounds like 2 v-twins running together. Standard air box, air intake is because I could! 28mm copper pipe for cooling hoses, vintage fire extinguisher as header tank and a coil of 10mm copper pipe as my oil cooler. Flat tracker bars. CBR 600 rear shock, Lots of one off brackets, everything powder coated satin black.
I rode the bike 200mls from Southampton with my brother who also raced on his big KTM 950 adventure.
I managed to fall off on the siting lap for race 1 whilst dicking about! Broke the right foot rest, bent the handle bars, added a few character scratches, smashed the header tank and missed the race, DOH!
Pushed back to the pits, repaired it with the rear foot peg from the KTM, bent the handle bars back and made it out for the second race coming 4th and qualifying for the final. In the final came 5th or 6th not completely sure, with my bro half a wheel behind in the tracker class.
Next morning rode the 200mls home, bike ran faultlessly all weekend. We had an awesome time and the bike received lots of praise whilst in the pits. Looking to build something else for next year. Bring it on!

Proper spectacular crash that, looked like it came right round on you. Loads of noise and a big cloud of dust. Loved the noise of that thing too.
